简　　介　
　　母亲去世的消息传来，令女孩帕斯林（斯嘉丽·约翰逊 Scarlett Johansson 饰）回去乡下老家，没想到在母亲留下的旧屋住着两个古怪的人，一个是落魄文学教授鲍比·朗（ 约翰·特拉沃尔塔 John Travolta 饰），是个衰老、邋遢的酗酒男人，和打算为他写传记的学生兰森（盖布瑞·马赫特 Gabriel Macht 饰）。三人暂时居住在一起，从鲍比·朗的口中，帕斯林听到许多母亲的过去，也让她找到母亲曾经的情感——这个始终写歌、最终吸毒过量去世的母亲，生命中的情歌都是写给谁的。新奥尔良乡下的悠闲足以让时光静止，这个老男人身上已经看不到将来，年轻的帕斯林渐渐不堪忍受这一切，也慢慢发现自己和鲍比·朗真正的联系……
