简　　介
　　Michael Dorsey（达斯汀·霍夫曼 Dustin Hoffman 饰）是一个没什么名气的演员，混迹在一些小话剧和肥皂剧中，最近和经纪人George Fields（西德尼·波拉克 Sydney Pollack 饰）闹翻了，因为经纪人不愿意帮他的下一部话剧找投资，更认为他不可能再找到工作了。为了筹到钱来演他的室友Jeff（比尔·默瑞 Bill Murray 饰）所写的剧本，Michael于是化妆成一个女人的模样，并化名Dorothy Michaels。他从他的女性朋友Sandy（特瑞·加尔 Teri Garr 饰）那听说了一部电视剧的试镜，他成功成为剧中一个叫Kimberly的角色。他和戏中的女主角Julie Nichols（杰西卡·兰格 Jessica Lange 饰）两人相谈甚欢，甚至让Julie的父亲都爱上了他。然而Julie却不知道Dorothy的真正性别。Michael日渐发现Julie的男朋友，电视剧导演Ron，并不是真心爱她，而他自己，也越来越喜欢Julie。Michael所塑造的角色引起了轰动，更让他烦恼的是，有越来越多的男人向他求爱.....
