　　骨瘦如柴、一脸倦容的保罗·凯洛（麦肯奇·克鲁克 Mackenzie Crook 饰）是伦敦地铁的一名驾驶员，他渐渐厌烦这份枯燥的工作，时刻梦想有朝一日能一圆他的写作梦。生活已然无味，厄运更挥之不散。他所驾驶的列车一个月内竟然遭遇两起坠轨事故。沮丧的保罗偶然从同事那里听到一个潜规则，只要司机一个月内连撞三人，他就会遭到解雇，不过却可以因此得到十年薪酬的补偿。在此期间，保罗看上位于苏格兰山间的小屋，他陷入痛苦的内心斗争之中。与其继续忍受这种无望的生活，还不如全心追寻梦想。利用一周的休假时间，保罗开始寻找下一位企图自杀的人……
