简　　介
　　在英国维多利亚女王逝世的那一天，1901年1月22日，内华达州的卡森城，著名的神枪手布克斯身肩使命来到此地。出人意料的是，大夫查出布克斯身患癌症，且已是晚期，只有几个星期可以活了。一些人幸灾乐祸，怀着看戏的心情盼望着布克斯死在卡森城，而另一些人则对他十分同情，为他感到惋惜和哀叹。疾病的折磨和对手的讥讽都不能打跨布克斯，他忍受住这一切，忠实地执行着自己的使命。当年的老对手提出要同他决斗，为铲除地方一害，布克斯同意了。到了1月29日，布克斯来到决斗的场所，即当地的酒吧间，经过一番激烈的较量，他将对手击毙，自己也死在酒吧招待的黑枪下。
