　　尼克（切维·切斯 Chevy Chase 饰）是一名普普通通的地质分析员，每天认认真真、勤勤恳恳地工作，对人生没有一点非分之想。某日，宿醉未醒的他拖着疲惫的身躯，前往研讨会的现场，没想到，过于疲劳的尼克竟然在洗手间里睡着了。不幸的是，当日研讨会上的磁力回旋加速器发生了故障，为了保证参会人员的安全，主办方决定全员撤离，却独独忘记了还在洗手间里酣睡的尼克。
