　　雅克·梅斯林是70年代末期法国著名的大盗，曾犯下多起持械抢劫和杀人案，也是有名的越狱犯。他善于伪装自己，曾以不同的面貌混迹人群，人称“千面大盗”。他在18个月的血腥逃亡之后，1979年11月2日在巴黎克利尼扬古尔门（PORTE DE CLIGNANCOURT）被特警队击毙。本片叙述梅斯林早期的经历，从1959年阿尔及利亚战争开始，当时梅斯林在战场上服役，这段经历标志了他“天真时期的结束”，使他成为一个“无政府主义者和对现状不满的人”。影片的下集《头号公敌》（MESRINE：L’ENNEMI PUBLIC No.1）将于11月19日上映。限制级。
