简　　介
　　20世纪二十年代，英国和爱尔兰之间的矛盾不断加深，最终爆发爱尔兰独立战争。原本拥有光明前途的医科大学生达米安（Cillian Murphy 饰）得知战争爆发，毅然投笔从戎。他回到家乡，与弟弟泰迪（Padraic Delaney 饰）、好友丹（Liam Cunningham 饰）一起加入了爱尔兰共和军。这群青年凭借满腔热血以及出色的战术，一次次挫败受雇于英国政府的“黑与棕”民兵部队。他们的反抗迫使英军同意签订条约，然而，这也成为昔日战友分道扬镳的岔路口……
