　　Harry（克里斯·库柏 Chris Cooper 饰）和Richard（皮尔斯·布鲁斯南 Pierce Brosnan 饰）是无话不说的好友，Harry走到了人生中最为平庸的一个时候：早已习惯到毫无新鲜感的妻子，熟能生巧不再刺激的工作，与Richard的风流倜傥相比，他简直就是一个不再令人注目的中年男人。然而这些日子他却活得神采飞扬，他与一年轻的女子Kay（瑞秋·麦克亚当斯 Rachel McAdams 饰）坠入爱河，并且毫不避讳地把美丽得不可方物的Kay介绍给Richard认识。
