简　　介
　　这是一部由真人和动画合成的冒险电影，片中不仅由《小鬼当家》麦考利克金领衔主演，他也同时担任幕后的声音演出。当理查为了帮父母作一件差事，一个人独自外出，他真正害怕的事情终于发生了，一场暴风雨将他逼到市立图书馆去躲雨。由于他找不到回家的路，理查为了找电话求救，又在像迷宫一样的书架中绕不出来，最后走到一间富丽堂皇的大厅中，就在那里发生了非常奇怪的事情。当理查看到屋顶上有著许多故事人物的壁画隐约浮现，壁画就开始像雨滴一样漫延晕开来，结果整个图书馆开始变成一个奇幻的画中世界，这时理查也遇到了书的大师，他带领著理查遨游他从未会经历过的新奇世界，在这个世界中充满了幻想、恐怖和冒险．藉由这次的旅程，理查不仅学到了自信，也让他真正了解生命中最可贵的东西——书。
