Really fun but hard to find remake of Akira Kurosawa s SEVEN SAMURAI.  Up until now the Laserdisc rip was the best version with English subs.  Thank you Mei Ah and WellGo USA for giving this a nice remastering.  Picture is not up to most blu ray standards - I m sure the source material they had to work with was not the best.  Picture retains a graininess and minor defects, but overall it is still a definite remaster and personally I love that some of the film  grit  remains.
Them movie itself is a blast, though this is not a major martial arts piece - only a smattering of stunts and fighting, but the story is pulpy and fast-paced.  Sammo Hung has a cameo in the beginning, and WellGo s packaging claims that this was  directed by Sammo Hung , and on their website it claims he co-directs it with Terry Tong, though all official crediting only given Terry Tong the director s chair for this one.  Not sure what to make of that.
