　　　　工厂倒闭，失业的五十岚（寺岛进饰）心情低落地走在路上，见到了形形色色的人们：企业倒闭集会示威自残的工人、打算捐器官做善意但却遭砍身亡的黑帮老大、妻子外遇自己身处狱中的可怜男子、孩子身陷火场的单身漂亮母亲（筱原凉子饰）、中了六合彩但心脏病发身亡的老人、失业自杀的中年男子、腰缠万贯但身患绝症的男人。而五十岚也经历了大喜大落，面对的人一变再变，每个人都和他倾诉遭遇，而他一言不发地倾听着。 后来他碰上一件怪事，第二天回到家中，妻子（西田尚美饰）正在等着他回来。
