　　热爱动漫的塔克在完成了大专学业之后，他收到了卡尔艺术学校的录用通知，他踌躇满志的梦想成为一名主题公园设计师，原本前途一片光明，但现实却是父母刚刚申请了破产，只能把家里大部分值钱的东西拿去典当，塔克的高额学费成了他入学的最大阻碍，为此，他不得不找份工作来减轻父母的负担。塔克带着自己的漫画作品去某家公司面试设计师，但却被自己的同学安博捷足先登，不仅如此，他在接下来的面试中也屡屡失利，后知后觉的他决定去一家名为旧时光欢乐城的游乐场工作。简单的面试过后他得到了这份动物角色扮演的工作，他在众多的动物中选择了扮演袋鼠霍皮。这是一项艰辛的工作，在炎炎夏日里穿着厚重的动物皮衣，像扮演的动物那样走来走去，不能随便休息，不能当着游客的面说话，不能随便抱小朋友，有时候，甚至会受到某些坏小孩的攻击，但塔克都坚持了下来。塔克后来才得知，他之所以能得到这份工作，是因为旧时光欢乐城的总经理本杰明正计划举办一场名叫Z先生的节目。节目一共需要四位动物明星，塔克扮演的袋鼠，塞姆扮演的斗牛犬，杰瑞扮演的鹦鹉，还有华盛顿扮演的蓝鲸。塔克在伙伴们的帮助下也逐渐适应了游乐场的生活，但与此同时，新的危险渐渐降临，小镇发生了抢...
