　　《Arise》于2015年重制成10集电视动画《攻殻机动队Arise - Alternative Architecture》，前八集由剧场版四部曲重新剪辑而成，最后两集「Pyrophoric Cult」为完全新作故事，内容则是围绕着将故事导引至《攻壳机动队 新剧场版》的电子脑病毒：火种，所带来的冲击性前传作品。
　　DAY 1
　　2029年1月，在新滨市郊外发生飞机爆炸的恐怖攻击，荒卷率领的公安九课收到美军情报部提出共同搜查的请求。事件的嫌犯推测是买卖电子脑病毒?火种的中间人，通称「纵火魔」。纵火魔从卡尔特派遣过来暗杀穂积上校，将追查自己的美军情报员以飞机爆炸的恐怖攻击方式将其杀害。草薙将穂积当做诱饵，为了逮捕纵火魔设下包围网。
　　DAY 2
　　在激烈的电子脑战斗中，草薙成功压制住纵火魔，但查明的纵火魔身份，竟然在飞机的失事现场所发现的恐怖分子遗体资料一致！纵火魔究竟是谁？在分析电子脑的过程中，被排除在共同搜查外的草薙一行人，转任移送穂积上校到美军情报部的护卫，但纵火魔竟成功脱逃并杀害设施内的所有技师，并袭击草薙一行人。纵火魔的电子脑内只残存一个意志，就是保护能将所有人进化的钥匙：火种。
