简　　介　
　　本片为《一条狗的使命》姊妹篇，讲述了狗狗贝拉穿越四百英里回家的故事。
　　男主角卢卡斯在一座废弃建筑里偶遇幼犬贝拉。尽管他的母亲禁止养狗，他还是说服母亲将贝拉带回抚养，并把贝拉带到他工作的退伍军人医院，为病人们带去欢乐和慰藉。一次意外让长大的贝拉不慎走失，阴错阳差的与主人分隔两地。与主人分离的贝拉心急如焚，翻过雪山和草原，沿着落基山脉、跨越危机四伏的科罗拉多荒野，毅然踏上了未知而艰险的，长达四百英里的冒险归家旅程，只为回到主人卢卡斯身边，回到家里。
