简　　介
　　曾以《罗杰与我》获奥斯卡最佳纪录长片奖的导演迈克尔．穆尔进军剧情片的处女作，对美国的总统选举开了一个大玩笑。艾伦．阿尔达饰演平庸的美国总统，正在准备竞选连任。满肚子坏水的竞选顾问凯文．波拉克说服他发动对加拿大宣战，一方面摆平军火制造商的不满，另一方面也有了一个控制民心的议题。故事看似妙想天开，却表达了编导对美国军火商与政客之间微妙关系的一些锐利观察，可惜在电影处理的技巧上不够成熟流畅，显得空具有趣的点子却拍不出抓到痒处的讽刺性。胖子谐星约翰．坎迪饰演驻守在尼加拉大瀑布的超级爱国主义警察，是他去世前少数具有代表性的角色之一。
