简　　介　
　　美国洛杉矶发生了一桩命案，罪犯在现场留下一张署名为“反对美德和常态的人”的名片，侦探乔·弗赖戴和斯特雷贝克负责调查此案。根据掌握的线索，他们将马兹抓获，从其口中得知是西泽将他安插在一个叫PAGAN的组织中。在该组织举行的一次秘密聚会上，一个头戴面具的牧师将一个穿着结婚礼服的处女当作祭品推入了有蟒蛇的池塘，弗赖戴和斯特雷贝克将她救了出来。这个叫康尼的女子是被“消灭恶习和罪恶的十字军”领袖、牧师乔纳森·沃利绑架来的。弗赖戴将沃利抓了起来，但脾气暴躁的女警长柯克帕特里克对此大为光火，她命令弗赖戴将沃利释放，还让他交出了警徽。马兹抓住了弗赖戴和康尼，斯特雷贝克将他们救了出来。沃利企图杀死西泽、市长和柯克帕特里特，他的阴谋被弗赖戴和斯特雷贝克所粉碎。为了逃跑，沃利将康尼当作人质，但弗赖戴又一次使他的如意算盘落了空，并最终赢得了康尼的芳心。
