简　　介
　　迪伦·拉姆奇是一个过着优越生活的普通人：他在洛山矶有一大套住房（甚至可以与老邻居玩玩扑克游戏），还有一家即将开张的饭店，对他来说一切都非常称心如意。
　　“漂亮”不足以说明他的新邻居莉拉，她就象埃非尔铁塔，高佻、美丽、法国味十足，但是她只能远观而不可接近，于是迪伦决定吸引她的注意力。
　　不幸的是，莉拉只是关注三件事：在她的新居继续她的大提琴家的生涯、远离她鲁莽爱出风头的前男友瑞纳、和她的宠物杰克－一只短小、多毛、温柔、漂亮的小狗建立一个新家。
　　尽管迪伦想方设法接近莉拉，他最多的收获只是邻居间普通的招呼，即使他将走失的杰克归还也只是得了一声“谢谢”。于是迪伦为梦中情人做了一件事：将杰克绑架，然后帮助她寻找，借此获得她的好感而得到约会。
　　但是事情并没有象预期的发展，一个个意外出现了，如妒嫉的瑞纳出现、失落的结婚戒指、尼尔钻石、粗暴的信贷员等等。
