简　　介  
　　一次偶然中，克莱里亚（埃莱奥若拉·罗西·德拉哥 Eleonora Rossi Drago 饰）结识了名叫罗塞塔（Madeleine Fischer 饰）的女子，一来二去之间，两人之间产生了友谊，克莱里亚因此也认识了罗塞塔的三位好友梦妮娜（伊冯·弗奴克丝 Yvonne Furneaux 饰）、妮妮（瓦伦蒂娜·格特斯 Valentina Cortese 饰）和玛丽拉（Anna Maria Pancani 饰）。三个女人长相各异性格迥异，唯一的共同之处便是都很富有。
　　克莱里亚爱上了建筑师助理卡罗（埃托雷·曼尼 Ettore Manni 饰），然而，她的朋友们显然看不起这个出身于工人阶层的穷小子。与此同时，罗塞塔爱上了妮妮的男友洛伦佐（加比利艾尔·费泽蒂 Gabriele Ferzetti 饰），梦妮娜得知此事后，非但没有阻止，反而鼓励罗塞塔去追求洛伦佐，她的居心何在？
