　　皮斯塔切奥（达那·卡维饰）天生就有一项特殊的本领，那就是拥有极高的模仿能力，可以轻易模仿各种类型的人，不过除此之外他好像一无是处，在爱情和事业上都很失败，三十多岁还在父亲开的意大利餐馆中做招待，还经常出错。不过不要急，傻人自有傻福，其实皮斯塔切奥的模仿能力是遗传自他的家族，他是一个神秘的易容世家的后代。在那个家族中，每个人都拥有易容的天赋，他们可以一在瞬间变成另一个人而且模仿得惟妙惟肖，这种神奇的能力使他可以随意进出各种场所而不会受到阻拦。
　　 戴林伯曼是一名出狱不久的惯犯，他一直计划盗取世界上最珍贵的珠宝，为了达到自己的目的，他需要利用皮斯塔切奥的伪装能力，为此戴林绑架了皮斯塔切奥的父母。在解救自己的父母的过程中，皮斯塔切奥偶然发现了自己的特殊能力，并从祖父的口中得知了自己是易容世家的后人。在祖父及漂亮女助手詹尼弗的帮助下，皮斯塔切奥渐渐掌握了易容的技巧，并粉碎了戴林的阴谋，成功救出了父母......
