简　　介  
　　克拉克盖博在刚出道时跟性感女星简哈露合演的《莫街谋杀案》是他的成名作。二十年后由他自己重演同一角色，女主角则换上热情的艾娃加德纳和冷艳的格雷斯．凯利。这个重拍版本将故事背景从东南亚的橡树林改到非洲大陆，描写探险队员维多爱上歌舞女郎艾洛丝，迅速打得火热。但当人类学家唐纳带着他的妻子琳达出现时，维多却把爱情目标转向琳达，造成了无可挽回的三角悲剧。
　　本片并不是导演约翰．福特的代表作，但他处理这个充满原野风味的三角爱情故事仍然虎虎生风，不乏戏剧性，而且安排了大量的狞猎动作和大自然景色来烘托爱情冲突，效果不错。
